Family Health Center of Worcester will receive a $40,000 grant from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Massachusetts to improve access to health care and insurance coverage for low-income individuals and families, the foundation announced.

The grant is one of 24 the foundation has given to community organizations in the Bay State that are dedicating to promoting the health care needs of uninsured and low-income residents. The grants, which total more than $1.2 million, range from $40,000 to $75,000.

The money Family Health Center received will also be used to help low-income individuals and families obtain the levels of preventive and acute health care they need.
